Saw your dynamite show on 8/20/05 in Swanton, Ohio. My
wife and I enjoyed the show immensely! Have been a fan
for a long time. Had tickets to see you in Toledo in 2002,
but could not make the show because I was hospitalized
and had surgery for Diverticulitis. that was a bummer,
but my best buddy John Battles made the show, bought me
a CD, and you signed it "Josh next time" Well
that took some of the pain out of not being there. So
my buddy and Bought tickets to the show in Swanton and
damn if I didn't end up back in the hospital again! I
had to talk the doctor into releasing early so I could
make your show. I got out of the hospital in Lima, Ohio
at 1:00PM, made the trip to Swanton, and was grooving
to your band that evening. Finally seeing your band live,
and meeting you after the show, was better medicine then
any doctor in the world could have prescribed! Thank You
from way down in my soul!

I thought I would share this experience with you....
I was in my car the other day, drivin' home from a very
long week of work. I needed some inspiration, so I popped
in "Right as Rain"...Well, needless to say,
I was singin' along to my heart's content, came to a stop
light (one we call here in "The Creek" - the
light where rigor mortis could set in)...Eventually, I
looked over at this woman who was motioning me trying
to get my attention...she had to be at least 75 years
old... I turned down my tunes (just a bit) and she asked
"Who are you listening to???" I replied, "The
Tommy Castro Band!!!!!" and she said, "Wow,
now that's what I call good music!!!" I told her,
"you have great taste." And she replied, "I
think you have that wrong, honey, it's you that has the
great taste!" Gave me a smile and a big thumbs up
and drove away....Now is that cool or what???? Nothin'
like sharin' the best of the blues just waitin' at a stop
light...
...Be safe...

Your new web site is fantastic. The GuitarOne article
is excellent. The video clips of favorite riffs is greatly
appreciated. I hope you expand upon this in the future.
I've made my plans to see you again during your East Coast
swing.

Hi TCB!
I drove down from Lake Tahoe last week to take my sister
to your show in Old Sacramento. My husband and I have
seen you a few times and we have your cd's. I've tried
several times to turn my sister on to your music, but
she said that the blues was not her "type of music".
Well, you now have a new fan and blues has melted another
girls heart. She loved the concert and I got yet another
opportunity to enjoy a great performance.
Thanks,
Christine

Hey Tommy,
Just about to put the old mustang away for the winter,
but had to have one last cruise to enjoy the fall colors,
and what better way than to ride around with your latest
CD while my wife and I went for a drive. Keep up the great
work and can't wait to have you return to Ottawa as bluesfest
here is getting far to mainstream now, and we missed having
a class blues act such as yourself here headlining a show.
Come back this way soon! Cheers.

Several years ago my sister invited me to see this blues
band and ever since I have been enjoying your music and
you guys just get better and better. Your concert last
night in Old Town Sacramento was FANTASTIC. I love the
new songs and epically the new one you wrote with Randy,
it has his style and touch to it. I am so glad to see
that all the members are sticking to what works. Thanks
for visiting our town on a yearly basis.... Jackie Adams

Hi Tommy. This is Jim Hill. I wrote once before and was
delighted to know that a person as busy as you are took
the time to answer my email. Many props. My girlfriend
Rain and I met you at the Sacramento Heritage Festival
and really enjoyed the show. We will be at the upcoming
performance in Old Sacramento and are looking forward
to seeing you and the amazing band again. I am a bluesman
and we discussed the fact that I have covered your tunes.
I hope this gives you a flashback as to you I am. We were
at the front of the stage. I am the owner of a 63 strat
and wanted to know if you would autograph it if I brought
it to the show. To the band: You guys kick ass! Randy,
holy crap, that bass is part of you. There is not enough
time to give all the kudos that everyone of you deserves
for keeping the working man satisfied. The Tommy Castro
band is for the working man, you guys speak for us. Thank
you very much.

S aw the band play last nite in Arcata, California. I
was surprised at the fatt sound that a 4 piece could create,
let alone the tightness of the set. You can tell that
everyone was enjoying the music. The ease of talking to
the crowd made us all feel right at home, as if we were
old friends. I will be back to hear you each time you're
in the area. Thanks for a great nite of the blues. Swamp

When I first saw TCB in Honolulu in 1997, I never expected
to become such a huge fan. My job later brought me back
to Los Angeles and then Sunnyvale, and I kept following
TCB's events and becoming a bigger fan. At a certain point,
I remember Randy asking me if I had become a groupie (hahaha).
Well, Randy, almost! Looking forward to see you guys again
October 1st at the Blue Cafe!
p.s.:
my best birthday ever was the one I celebrated with Tommy
and the band (we have birthdays the same day) in a little
blues club in Oakland. We had lots of cakes!

Hey Tommy,Randy, Keith and Chris,
Just wanted to drop a line after our road trip to Madison
,Indiana to see you guys.My wife and son and I live in
Northeast Ohio and are probable some of your biggest fans.My
wife and I have seen you guys about 12 or 13 times over
the last few years and truly enjoy the music and style!
But on this trip it was our 15 year old son's first concert
let alone a blues concert. You probably know what kind
of music some teenagers like these days. So on the 6 hour
trip to Madison,Indiana for the ribberfest we made sure
we took our entire Tommy Castro cd collection and told
him what he was going to see.He made have been a little
apprehensive but after watching the Tommy Castro band
perform live he fell in love with the music and the band.
I can't get Soul Shaker out of his cd player. Thank You
for making our new fan!
Truly some of your biggest fans!

just wanted to drop in to thank Tommy and Ray and the
boys for donating the CD, DVD and autographed photo for
our Blues Suitcase program. Every teacher who borrows
it has a great time teaching his/her students about blues
music and history. The DVDs are great tools for showing
today's youth that blues is not only alive, it makes you
FEEL alive!!!!
Thank you!
By the way, if you ever get a chance to pick up decals
and bumper stickers from blues clubs and festivals around
the world, we'd really appreciate any you could send to
us. We put them on the outside of the suitcases so the
kids can see immediately that blues music is loved all
over the world!

Hey Tommy and guys. I have to tell you that I was not
a blues fan, until I heard/saw you at the Blues Festival
in Deadwood, SD. I bought 2 CD's and that is all I listen
to. You really are GREAT!! I sure hope you come to Deadwood
next year, or at least someplace close to the Dakotas.
Thanks!!!

Tommy, Keith, Randy, Chris & Steve,
Just a message of thanks to y'all. I can only hope you
guys know how powerful your music is in so many ways.
Not just the awesome power of any show I've ever seen
you guys do, so crisp, tight and ON. If there's been an
'off' nite, I've yet to see it. :) But the power to take
us mere 'mortals' up a level or two or three... where
reality fades for awhile and we're allowed to relax &
immerse ourselves in the music and forget for awhile.
We all know that at times, life can really pull a huge
vacuum. For a few hours Mon. nite I was able to totally
blot it all out, escape and all without the aid of alcohol,
btw :D That's how powerful y'all are and I just gotta
thank you for sharing.
Blues folks are the best folks, may God bless you, safe
travels until we meet again down the road. Would be nice
if it was Evansville again btw. LOL
PeaceNLove,
Ce

Seen you last night in Toledo. I was yelling you about
my 8 year old daughter, Bailey, who loves "Just A
Man"....anyway...we left your show and made it down
to the gas station to fill up. Once I filled up, my key
wouldn't turn in the ignition. Just then a stretch limo
pulls up to get gas. I explain that my wife and the other
couple I brought to your show needed to get home to Lima
(80 miles away)...He agrees to drive them home in style.
I waited for the tow truck. Tow truck arrives after midnight,
drops me off at the hotel, then takes my car to the Toledo
Cadillac dealer. I thumb to the dealer the next day and
wait 5 hours for them to repair my wheels, then I blast
"Soul Shaker" and "Live from Fillmore"
all the way home to Lima.....so here's the punchline.......
Concert tickets $80
Limo ride for wife and friends $250
Tow truck $85
Hotel $149
Car repair $417 (ouch)
Front row center for Tommy Castro....Priceless!
Thanks for the excellent show, as a guitar player myself,
it was great to see you work it out that close.Once again,
hell of a night that I won't ever forget, see you next
time for sure.

Do you remember me? I'm Max! Your Italian wonderful driver
and interpreter ... Did you enjoy your travel back to
the states? I would like to thank you for the great time
we spent together. Say goodbye to Randy, Chris and Keith
for me. Whenever you'll be back in Italy I will be very
happy to meet you again and bring you to have a nice sunny
day on an Italian beach (next time be sure where they're
gonna put you :)) I enjoyed very much the concerts and
now you have another big fan (I'm telling everybody to
buy your CD). I wanted to send you the photo we made in
the restaurant but this form doesn't allow me to send
anything. You're great people. Yesterday I spent the day
with Willy DeVille and Chuck Berry ... they're not half
nice as you are (strange people ... rockstar!). One day
I will tell my son about my days with Tommy Castro Band
on the road! ;)
Hope to see you again someday!

There is no better time a musician can have than to witness
absorb and follow every detail this band delivers. I have
taken friends to TC shows (both the party professional
and musician alike). All sit stunned and amazed from the
DELIVERY of the band. Call me an admirer not a just a
fan. We witnessed concerts at Maggie's place (PA) where
great food is served before the sets and fabulous drinks
through intermission. Everyone within this band is so
"down to earth" and exactly what the salt and
pepper hair crowd can appreciate. I know the band receives
a great meal prior to the show. Perhaps owners Jim and
Angela have found the secret that allures great bands
to their place. Their sparkling personality, room intimacy,
great food and especially top talent.
I just joined the street team and with a marketing degree
am able to focus in on the right avenue. Send me promo
for all media. I am the disciple of the "A"
chord. Future Concept: How about a great concert featuring
TC, JohnnyA, Doobies, Los Lobos and Little Feat. Set a
charitable cause for the show and place it in a comfortable
venue near Philly (perhaps Penns Landing). Philly is a
strong base for all these bands. My party/musical friends
and I would elevate for hours. If I could be backstage
I would feel up front. Perhaps Fender may enjoy a piece
of this action. Twin reverbs with 65 Strats are a musicians
best friend Forget the dog.
Sincerely,
Phil Opalski
